Myself and my husband live in Ballywaltrim alongside our menagerie of animals, with family living nearby in Bray & Greystones. I spent most of my childhood growing up in Bray, starting primary school in Loreto Bray and then Ravenswell Bray, returning again to Loreto schools for secondary.
During lock-down I completed my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with National College of Ireland and more recently a Masters MicroCredential in Responsible Leadership & Management – I’m a strong believer in accessible life-long learning and further education pathways for all.
I’ve been lucky enough to work and live here and abroad - Ireland, London, Sydney, and some countries in between. My career has been mostly in business development roles within sectors of retail, airports / duty-free, technology and more recently, as a non-tech tech start-up founder. My start-up TrustWorki helps Small Businesses to foster vibrant workplace cultures that fuel growth through engaged and happy employees, delivering talks and workshops today, with a tech diagnostic underway. So I am acutely aware of the challenges facing our local business owners and operators that are looking to remain profitable, to thrive and scale.
As someone navigating life as high-functioning ADHD, I've developed a deep appreciation for neurodiversity and the importance of creating inclusive spaces where everyone, regardless of their unique challenges or strengths, can thrive and belong.
As an example, for me ADHD can mean being a high energy multi-tasker, that sometimes my high energy burns me out, so I just need to ensure I fit in time to disconnect, to go for chill-out walks on beautiful Bray Beach or our stunning surrounding countryside, to re-set. Walks in nature are something we can all benefit from and are lucky to have on our doorstep here in Bray. ADHD canmean different things to each individual, please check out the wonderful resources of ADHD Ireland, to learn more, link below.
ADHD Ireland | Our Mission is to make life better for people affected by ADHD
Through it all, my experiences with ADHD have inspired me to champion the value of diversity and authenticity, particularly to advocate for early interventions for children and young people. As I received my diagnosis late in life, I’m acutely aware of some limitations I’ve had to unknowingly navigate, that would’ve been made much easier knowing I’m neurodiverse from childhood.
